Do you have the right email, phone number, and portfolio URL address on there? If we can't get in touch with you, we can't hire you.
How much white space is on your resume? Is there a clear flow for the reader? Hiring Managers and Recruiters only give your resume about 6-10 seconds before deciding if they want to learn more. Make sure they can see what they need to see (this includes the info from #1) — tip #3 will help with that.
Not only does white space make your resume easier to read by visually pulling the reader through, but it also allows people to take notes when they interview you. Both important.
An objective on your resume is so early 2000's. Use that space for something more relevant like special skills or a summary that explains gaps in your experience. If we're reading your resume, we already know you want a job, you don't have to tell us.
Seriously...spell check multiple times. Read your resume backwards, give it to your friend, whatever you need to do. Applying for a job in Social Media and listing "Panterest" as a skill is NOT going to get you an interview.
Resumes are not the time to be modest. Put down all those skills and prizes that relate to your dream job. Want to work in graphic design? You better list all the programs you can work with.
An exception to the rule?
Any awards you won in high school. Sorry, not relevant.
