Artisan Talent Packaging Designer Gregory Cypser Wins a prestigious Vertex Award III for his Star Wars Petco Toy Designs!

The Vertex Awards are the only global competition devoted exclusively to the art of Private Brand package design; created by Christopher Durham the founder of My Private Brand/VP of retail brands at Theory House and Phil Russo, publisher of Global Retail Brands. The awards are judged by a highly esteemed panel of industry experts from around the world, and awarded based on creativity, marketability, and innovation.

Gregory Cysper is part of DesIsland (pronounced dez-ay-lund), a design company founded by himself and Laura Dufour: A duo of designers with over 14 years of industry experience. They work on everything from high-end commercial packaging to small-scale websites for non-profits. "We have worked with businesses and individuals of all shapes and sizes, all for the love of design and developing our craft."

Gregory Cypser Wins Vertex Award

Their goal was to create standout packaging for a first in a series of Star Wars collectible dog toys. The Red Luxor foil stamp and spot gloss with rainbow glitter bring iconic Star Wars light rays to life, while copy mimics the origin story, calling on rebel pets and parents to “play or display.” It's no wonder this project was a big winner!
