Is your website one of those slow websites? You have two seconds for your website to load before visitors start jumping ship, says Smashing Magazine. In fact, Website Magazine says every passing second after that equates to a seven percent drop in people actually buying stuff from the website. Even Google considers load time when it ranks websites; slower load = lower rank.
Personal Branding: Autumn in a Cup
If you’re lucky to live in a part of the country that changes with the seasons, the fall brings vibrant leaves and cool night air. No matter where you live, the fall also brings the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. Nothing says fall like the cinnamon, clove, ginger and nutmeg of that perfect hot brew. It’s like autumn in a cup. Starbucks has done a wonderful job marketing the beverage under their brand. There are Pumpkin Spice Latte groupies, posts on Instagram galore, and it even has its own Twitter account. Could the PSL teach us about our own personal branding efforts?
It's every human resources manager's worst nightmare: the top talent leaves and then everyone else follows, one by one.
It's easy to see why it happens; many staff members invest quite a bit into following the top talent of a business, even if they aren't in a committed mentor-mentee relationship. They look to this person for guidance and when he or she leaves, they suspect that something has gone awry.
Linking Employers with an I-9 Workforce
Today, 53 million Americans are freelancing instead of working fulltime. This “I-9 economy” makes up one-third of our country’s workforce. Freelance employees really are "the new black." Workers cite the freedom of entrepreneurship as their main attraction to the gig economy, and employers love having a mobile workforce that can be turned on or off as needed, allowing them to adapt to changes in the economy. It also enables many employers to “try before they buy;” many I-9 contractors eventually go on to become full-time employees.
